I'd like a hardware storage unit for storing MP3's, it is a stand alone unit, but can be updated by attaching to a PC - its not always connected to a PC.

The unit is opertated by a wireless remote that is similar to the Sonos remote, ie. displays details of the songs etc

I can plug the device direct into my home theatre amp ....

Is there such a thing ??

Not as expensive as the sonos, but really nice is the Rioku soundBridge. I think there's amodel with a SD card slot. They are available here through http://www.krome.co.nz

Hi there, thanks for the reply.

It is a nice option and a lot cheaper than the Sonos .. though its not a stand alone system, will need to network it with my PC.

Hmmm. Yes, it is not standalone. It can be networked over Wi-Fi though, making it quite independent, if you want to use it around the house - not out and about.
