OK, after reading bunch of reviews and forums, Im confused about the Logitech Z506 sound system....

I want to get some speakers for my PS3 (current sound system unfortunately does not fit new cabinet/lounge area) so i can watch movies etc without relying on just the TV speakers (which fail miserably on blu-rays :) ) but some info Ive read says that the speakers wont be running in 5.1 for a console, just stereo with the "Matrix" mode enabled, and willl only do the 5.1 on a PC with a 5.1+ sound card.

Are they or are they not 5.1 for PS3 ?

If anyone can shed some light in the next hour or so, it would be appreciated before I goto Playtech and buy some ;)

Unless the PS3 has separate outputs for each channel I would not get the Z506 as you will not get surround sound (matrixed does not count).
Basically the Z506 does not have a decoder onboard so you need to use something else (a PC, AVR etc) to do the decoding for you.
You need to look at something like the Z906 to give you surround sound.
