We have been sold a Panasonic DMR-XW380GZK DVD Recorder with built in Freeview on the basis that it could be made all regions as half our DVD collection is from when were living overseas.

The salesman in the shop did something with the Panasonic master remote and told us it would probably play all regions now. But you guessed it.... it doesn't.

Does anybody know whether it is actually possible to unlock this DVD recorder to play all regions?

And if so, does anyone know how?

Many Thanks

Yes.
Take it to a Panasonic service agent with your receipt and they will do it for free.
Panasonic pays the bill.
I have had two differnet Panasonic models done.

P.S.
It can't be done with a Panasonic remote.
It has to be a special purpose remote. I was present when my latest was done and I think it was actually a Phillips multi remote.
