I have recently purchased a Pioneer vsx920 AR and last night sat down to watch my first blu ray through it.My blu ray player is a Panasonic BD60 which is connected to the amp through an hdmi cable.
With the amp set to AutoSurround which is what it should be using i get the DTS-HD display on the amp and i get pictures and all sounds except people speaking which is rather essential.
When going through stereo mode i get everything which is weird.
I thought if there was an issue there would be no sound at all,not just some.I have set the Blu ray to output bitstream as per the manual but still cannot get dialogue on Auto surround.
Any ideas?

Thank you

Could it be that the centre speaker channel on the amp is not working correctly? That is where most of the dialogue comes from.

Hi Runningman,

Thanks for your quick reply.
You were right!
Whilst bi-amping my fronts yesterday i must have disconnected the centre speaker.
So simple that i didn't even think of it.What an egg!

Thanks for your help.

On Panasonic BDP's turning BD Secondary Audio OFF can reduce funnies too.

Setup menu/Sound/Digital Audio Output/BD-Video Secondary Audio > OFF
