IMO $2000 will get you a really nice TV. With all the companies pushing internet and 3D, this gives me the impression that they have done as much they can with picture quality so now they're pushing gimmicks. Which for $2000 I'm sure you'll get as well anyway.
But before you get a new TV based on it performing poorly, have you had much snow? Two out of my three TV's have been experiencing some pixelation due to poor reception.

Devotees of the famed Pioneer Kuro plasmas would argue otherwise. Perhaps we could agree that they've done as much as they can within what the general market is prepared to pay! :)
