Looking at getting a tv for my apartment. Looking at getting a Sony ex520 or cx520 or an equiv. Samsung?
The only difference between the the Sony's (that i can tell) is the back-lighting? is it worth the price differential for the led back-lighting?
The ex520 is about 1099 at lv martin while the equiv. samsung spec wise ua40d6000 is about 1.4k.

I'm trying to keep the budget down to 1.1k ish.
They will both be hooked up to my computer and probably just a lan cable, so no wifi needed as the routers quite close.

Any ideas or anything i missed?

Both Sony TV's are 50hz where as the Samsung is 100hz if that makes any difference to you. The Samsung has better features than both Sony but depends if you would use them or not for the extra $300

Hunt down a UA40D6003... 100Hz, no fancy 3D or smart TV bits and pieces.
But it's a better TV than the Sony and will cost you less than the stock standard UA40D6000.

I have a 55" LCD non-LED Samsung, I really like it. I have an older 40" Samsung LCD TV that still works well. I looked at Sony TVs at the same time, but I really didn't like the exterior appearance.

Ive just bought the Sony CX 520.  Really pleased with it.  Remember to turn off the light sensor though - otherwise picture is dull.
