Calling all classical music followers ...

I have subscribed to the BPO Digital Concert Hall - some great concerts available for viewing.

But .... my internet connection can be slow -- in fact it usually is slow -- so I get plenty of pauses when viewing concerts which makes them unwatchable.

I have been in contact with the operators of the site and they say there is no facility to download concerts for later viewing (unlike BBCiPlayer) -- there is only streaming. You can't even pause to allow some of the file to be buffered -- as soon as you hit pause the streaming stops.

I am sure someone out there will know how a copy can be saved as the file is streamed ... all I want to do is view it with no stops and starts and the lack of this feature is very frustrating.

Any ideas?

Thanks
Goethe

Is this any different from saving something you have just watched off YouTube, for instance? Are the programs in flv format?

Hi Goethe, I too have subscribed and watched a number of concerts from Berlin, the quality is quite incredible. I have not experienced any stalling or stuttering over several hours of streaming, I am with Telecom and only a pretty typical/average connection.

I must admit I have never bothered to see where the BPO streams from for my connection, I have assumed they have a CDN provider in Oceania somewhere.

Cyril
