Have just upgraded to a 55" 3D TV, so now need some recommendations for good 3D movies to hire or buy.
What have you seen which you would recommend?

semigeek: Have just upgraded to a 55" 3D TV

*jealous*

We've upgraded to a 46" 3D TV on boxing day - couldn't quite afford anything bigger. We got a 3D blu-ray player thrown in though.

As yet we haven't watched any 3D content so you've got me looking around now :-)

A couple I am interested in watching are Alice In Wonderland (the Tim Burton version!!) and Saw: The Final Chapter. Looking forward to Hubble 3D as well.

'Recommended 3D movies'? *This* should be a short thread.

iPad Air + iPhone SE + 2degrees 4tw!

These comments are my own and do not represent the opinions of 2degrees.

Thanks for the link.  Hugo looks like a worthwhile watch, and Kung Fu Panda 2, and How To Train Your Dragon.

Megamind in 3d was good, and comes free with most 3D TV setup boxes

Piranha 3d is also pretty funny, but yeah, terrible terrible storyline, good for the cheap laughs. From most video stores @ $2 for 7 days hire

I have moved across the ditch.  Now residing in Melbourne as a VOIP/Video Technical Trainer/Engineer.

you'll have to import kung fu panda 2 in 3d, not available locally at this stage

transformers 3 in 3d gets released in Feb, will be circa $70 - $80 to buy though.

Most of the movies recently have been pretty crap, and 3d only an add-on "ooo errr" value.

HP Deathly Hollows pt 1 & 2
Sanctum in 3d (decent cave movie)
Pirates of Caribbean 4
Resident Evil Afterlife
Green Lantern
Capt America
Despicable Me
Gullivers Travels

There are others for sure, those are our most popular renting 3d films recently anyway

look at amazon.co.uk for your BR 3D purchases, less than half the cost of them here.

My favourite is def. "drive angry" with nicholas cage, cheesey as film but is absolutely stunning in 3D.
Cars 2 is alos pretty good in 3D.

I bought Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs today, quite impressed with the 3D.  I have also been looking at Amazon UK for movies, I have put a few on my wish list.  JBHiFi I found, also has a few 3D movies and had a stand specifically for Disney 3D ranging in price from $34-$40ish.

I got CWACOM free with my TV and I absolutely loved it, way funnier than I had anticipated especially when he's explaining to his dad how to send an email. Priceless.

Amazon UK is where I buy at least 50% of my blu ray's I would highly recommend them.

Tron Legacy is considered the benchmark for testing your stuff.

Whether you like the movie is personal choice of course.

Watched Captain America last night, the 3D in my opinion was brilliant.
