howdy!

I've since realised after speaking with a mate that I don't actually need to install my belkin bt dongle (after approx 6 hrs of struggling with the widcomm drivers)... I've got a wireless card that supports bluetooth.

My next problem however is to get the proprietary asus software that runs wireless/bt to communicate with my sony ericsson k700i - not sure which forum I should be posting in, Laptops, Bluetooth or Phones?

I've tried searching but haven't found too much... is there an easier method of searching threads in specific forums?

Advice appreciated!

EDIT: further info, I've got an Asus A6000 laptop running XP SP2... hence my initial difficulties with getting the bluetooth dongle to communicate. I've read the article by microsoft "how to troubleshoot bluetooth connection & connectivity problems in Win XP SP2" here http://support.microsoft.com/kb/883258/en-us but not sure if this applies to the Asus wireless/bt card?

all good... after going around in circles for quite some time I think I've got everything working... had to install the Balkin Widcomm driver, then edited the registry as per Microsoft instructions, then reinstalled the dongle... all working fine now

gave up on trying to get the Asus wireless laptop card to work

still have the balkin extra BT icon in the sys tray but not fussed, now that everything is working
