Hello all. I don't really fit into the 'geek' description, I am more of a wholly committed DIY average kiwi bloke who drives my wife and family absolutely nuts with my 'I can do it' attitude.
I guess I just felt that from watching my old man who was a tech in the old days when they cut their own crystals and did things that were way out there because they could, and my uncles who were builders and boatbuilders make these fabulous creations from wood and concrete, I should be able to do the same.
My most recent DIY project was to say to my son when the engine in his computer controlled japper died, we should chuck in a later model engine. Well, everytime my mates said 'you wont be able to make it go' I just had to.

My new project is to erect a UHF antenna for our soon to arrive Sony KDL46W4000 tv with inbuilt Freeview thingy, and of course we need HD.

Anyway, I like DIY, the satisfaction is great, even greater if there is success.

If you want to impress me, then mod the MR2 so I can fit in and drive it! (6foot7)
