not to be overly cynical, but why does a girl introduction get more than twice as many replies as any other thread on the first page of the introductions forum?

Coincidence or stereotypical girl on internet syndrome? :D

Welcome anyway (I'm just jealous you beat my record of 9 :)

@ddn - perhaps cos us gurls in the geek world are not that common (in my experience anyway)

I was up at Tech Ed last few days and attended the Tech Girls dinner - there were maybe 100-150 women in the room (and some men)

I think the total attendance for TechEd was 1800 - its a fairly low % thats a reasonable reflection of my experience and I have been in IT (in one way or another) for 15+ years.

Im more of a software geek/power user, but I also know a reasonable amt about hardware - used to work for a local assembler, and I like to think I can hold my own :) Im not at any kind of developer or architect level by any means, but I generally find I know enough to be able to hold some kind of conversation (and nod in appropriate places LOL)

Im sorry I beat your record - I didnt know it was a competition!

@Joker97 - thx and your friend takes some awesome pix, but then she has a *real* camera :)

@freitasm - done -must post some pix in the weekend
