Hi all, I did the geek test but failed, none of the questions were about anything I grew up with,  even the ball point pen hadn't been invented, came to NZ in 1967 with wife and 2 boys.
Around 1970 got a job as a field engineer with Burroughs so my first experience of servicing computers was 1975 on the Burroughs L2000
When I retired I never wanted to see another computer but then found they make editing video a breeze, so got back to them in 1997, so now am working my way to being a geek.

Welcome to Geekzone! I joined Unisys in 1989 and left in 2006... Before that I worked for a Burroughs (then Unisys) customer for a couple of years.

I left Burroughs around 1978 went from the frying pan into the fire, when the firm I worked for "Berrymans" were agents for the IBM XT and AT computers, do you remember they upgraded the HDD from 10MB to 20MB, we all said how amazing, luckily they droped the computers and I spent the next 10yrs servicing the IBM golfball typewriters, considering I did an apprenticeship as a Marine diesel engineer in Manchester in the 1950s it's been a changing world.
