Anyone getting the new ThinkPad X1 Carbon laptops? Think it's worth an upgrade from the 2013 models?

I seriously agonized over this notebook for months eyeing the i7 with unbashed lust, until last Friday when I held it. I just couldn't get my head around it, it's got the most awesome keyboard, but in the end I purchased the highest spec Asus X301 even though it has two things that I didn't want, a 13" screen and a glossy panel.

In the end the specs won me over. Worst case if I hate it, I'll sell it and buy the Lenovo.

One thing that bothers me is the lack of a FireWire port on the Carbon.

2012 called, they want their FireWire back...

I doubt you will see any further spread of FireWire connections on any maintstream computers these days.

I like to use it for live streaming a camcorder. But now that I come to think about it, I think HDMI could work too if the camcorder supports it.
