Trying to work out how to output laptop's mini DP to 2 monitors.

Will the following work: connect mini DP to HDMI adapter to HDMI to dual-HDMI splitter and thence to monitors?

You can use one of these to connect from a mini DisplayPort to two DisplayPort monitors.

I've used them in the past and they work pretty well.

That will get the same thing on both monitors. Just make sure you get an actual HDMI splitter, trademe and ebay are littered with useless cables with 1 hdmi plug and 2 sockets on it which are just connected together so it doesnt actually work.

If you want seperate content on both screens then you would need to look into getting a MST hub for display port. Matrox make the DualHead2Go which would drive 2 screens, but DVI so dont know if it would do audio or not.
