Looking for a D/L manager while using Chrome, any good extensions/apps out there?

 Thanks :)

I use Free Down Load Manager.

It works well with everything that I do.

It's a standalone prog, so not tied to Chrome.

Why not just the built in one?

I download stuff from places that doesn't need Chrome to access.

Free Download Manager as mentioned above is nearly identical in look and feel to Internet Download Manager from Tonec.  However, it used to have some junkware / adware bundled with it so I'm not sure if that is still happening.  If you are on a budget it's good, but I have to be honest, it simply is nowhere near as good as IDM.  IDM is constantly updated and is hands-down the best windows based download manager I have ever found - I never buy software and almost always go free / open source and I paid for an IDM license.

stuzz: It's a standalone prog, so not tied to Chrome.

The download managers like Free Download Manager have add-ons/extensions/plug-ins for the main browsers. Download Ninja is another option. See http://www.techsupportalert.com/best-free-download-manager.htm

I mainly use a manager to login to a ftp site, so FDM works really well for that.
