Why not?  I bought my wife one about a year ago.   It's got a great screen. and ideal for what she wants to use it for.  Can't understand people who want a 12"  screened laptop.  May as well use a tablet..

Budget into it the cost of an SSD upgrade, that is all I would suggest. It might be needed as sometimes Windows 10 can 'feel' slower than Windows 7.

If you are coming from a consumer range bulky Satellite laptop then it would be more of the same, if from Portege/Tecra business range then it might be a little bit of a downgrade.

CPU doesnt seem too bad, from a quick google , considering the cost
Expect possible lower quality on the display, build, keyboard mouse

You immediately lose your warranty if you do this. I added an SSD to an Asus laptop, later it developed a problem with the screen. Even though it was probably unrelated, they said I could've damaged something while I was doing it. The manufacturer warranty was void, but I managed to get a partial refund under consumer guarantees.

If you want an SSD it's probably best to buy a laptop with an SSD built in.
