Hi,

I'm thinking about getting a Dell XPS M1330, but my friend who has one was telling me that the graphics has a known heat problem and that to alleviate this, the new drivers Dell have released ensure the FAN for the graphics card is constantly on.

Does anyone know anything about this? what are your thoughts? Any issues with overheating? is the fan noisy enough to be an annoyance or have a big effect on battery life?

Cheers,

I have an XPS 1330 and have never experienced any overheating and it generally runs pretty quietly, certainly not annoying and battery life is pretty good with the 9 cell battery. Not sure about new graphics drivers , haven't installed any new graphics drivers in a while so i wouldn't know.
