I am thinking of buying this laptop ($1,298.98)

It is not for me (but I do have a work Dell Laptop). It is exactly on top of budget.

The SSD is sufficient, it will not have to work hard and I want it to last 5-6 years (as most of the laptops I buy do).

I have never had an i3, but reading some pages on the web, it will probably do the job and the cpu is very current.

My other alternative is an i5-8265U.

What do you think?

Probably be fine for home/office use.

Just make sure the ram is upgradable and the battery life isn't poo.
