Do you think laptop keyboards will be a thing of the past soon?

There are some slates already running Windows 7. The main difference is that we will be seeing lighter, faster, thinner ones with a touch interface instead of a pen interface (a.k.a. Tablet PC).

so how will people play games on them? does it have a high end graphics card and wouldn't it be weird to play shooting games without a mouse?

Probably have the standard intel GMA4500 chipset(enough for HD, not really that good for games)

For Games, it'd be like an iPod Touch or iPhone, you'd use the touchscreen controls...or if someone is inventive enough, maybe they'll have a mini-usb to mini-usb and connect up a PS3 controller :)

i love tablets/slate computers, have been a fan for a while now, and would not go without my trusty hp tc4400 fantastic tablet, but have been waiting for ages for a decent slate and the new hp slate looks very good and I will most likely end up with one when they come out;)
as for playing games, they are not meant to be for games, thats what an xbox is for:)
personally a slate with windows 7 running onenote = awesomeness
