Just wondering what other bits and pieces most people lug around with their laptop/notebook/netbooks when on the road

I'm assuming many/most carry:
USB flash drive
3G adapter

What about things like:
VGA cable
Ethernet cable
USB-to-serial cable
Spare battery (laptop)
Spare Battries (mouse)
Travel plug adapter.

Why i'm asking is i'm looking at making a padded hard case and i want to know how much other guff most people carry round with them, so i can make sure there is room for all the common stuff i might discover i need later.

Since the moulds will represent a decent investment of time and money, I want to bang out a handful of these and sell them off to recover some costs.  So who is keen on a carbon fibre hard case for their netbook and accessories? If their is enough interest i'll look at doing one suitable for 14" laptops later on.

Day to day in my backpack:

Laptop (Thinkpad - integrated 3G), with 3M privacy shield.
Nokia N73 plus Blackberry Bold.
USB cables, 2M ethernet patch cable, crossover adapter.
Notebook (of the paper variety)
Pens, highlighter, whiteboard marker, permanent marker
USB storage, usually a variety of.
Sennheiser CX300 earbuds.
All-in-one power plug adapter.
Passport and travel wallet.
Usual other stuff - Eclipse mints, antacids, neurofen, building access cards, miscellaneous spare change that builds up, keys, etc.

When travelling, the above plus:
"Travel phone" for local SIM (and charger)
Bose QC2 headphones, with a couple spare AAA batteries.
Digital camera, sometimes with charger (it takes AAs, so I don't always bother)
Power adapters for laptop, cellphones, etc.
Emergency toiletries/maybe a change of shirt/underpants.

I used to carry a mouse around with me but I either found that I broke them or that most hotels have annoying glass desks that don't lend themselves to optical mouse use, and gave up with it.  I suppose I should look into it again as they are helpful.

Thanks for that, don't think i'll make a case big enough for that lot, but maybe a slot for the neurofen might be a good idea.

I think you forgot to mention the kitchen sink.. ;)
