Have you guys tried the new intel processors (Intel i3)? Is there a MASSIVE difference between them and the Intel Pentium Dual Core?

I've heard some negative things about the new intel processors on how it lacks performance compared to the previous Intel Core 2 Duo etc.

Is it worth paying another $290 for a newer processor and graphics card? I am a gamer but I don't mind playing in low graphics as I don't see a HUGE difference in quality. But I am concerned about framerate. My current laptop, HP DV5-1209ax has problems with frame rates even thought it is regarded as a "Class 2" graphics card on notebookcheck.com. It is a ATI HD 3650.

Cheers
