Nice review - looks like the UMTS is running a bit slow.....

I was getting 1.6mbps out of my EVDO embedded HP yesterday.

Surely the speed of the card would be based on location and network conditions at the time??

Jama: I was getting 1.6mbps out of my EVDO embedded HP yesterday.
If this "EVDO embedded HP" you are talking about is not in the market and available for consumers/companies to purchase then I wouldn't count it.

TNZ showed some embedded laptops during the Convergence 2006 Wellington, but talked about these previously during the Convergence 2005 Auckland.

When things are actually coming out? Since it's common understanding this kind of information is not readily available (as the laptop in question), I would reserve those for official announcements.

Really.

Its real, we have announced we are doing it so assume that testing is being done. As you said we showed them off at Convergence.

The HP performs really, really well and by the look of it better than the UMTS Lenovo.

Many times we heard of products being tested but not released... But, ok TNZ did announce some models to be released, so I will leave at that.
