Hi All, I had to reformat my Acer laptop HDD and installed Win 7 6 Bit but now it won't wake up from Sleep Mode. If put it to sleep manually or close the lid, it goes into sleep mode fine but when I press a button  on the keyboard, power button goes green from blinking orange, fan starts to run etc but display remains blank. I have to shut down by pressing the power button and restart.  At the moment I have turned off sleep mode from Power settings but would like to solve this problem.  Tried few other forums but everyone keeps talking about display drivers and BIOS setting but everything seems normal and how can BIOS settings change by reformatting?

Can you look up what blinking orange is supposed to mean, in the user manual. I wouldn't expect it to have solid green LED in sleep mode, but blinking green. I wonder if it is going into the wrong mode.

It's actually blinking amber light and I have checked the user manual and service manual, there is no mention of the blinking amber light on the power button.

Yes our Dell laptop blinks amber (the power symbol) when the battery is low, and it is about to shut down.
