My 5 year old Macbook Pro is coming to the end of its life: outdated office, tiger osx, dead battery and the nine key is dead.

Will it be worth waiting for Ivy Bridge and Kepler or should I just try get a cheap Sandy Bridge? Cheers

Need a new laptop to do my thesis on for university and was going to get an IB laptop in April but now I'm not sure...

Have been looking at an asus n55sf-s1215v or a dell 15xps or 15z xps? not so sure on the build quality of them though
n55sf with i7-2670QM, 2gb gt555m 1080p, 750gb 5400rpm, bluray, 4gb ram for around 1.9k
15xps with i7-2860QM, 2gb gt540m, 1080p, 750gb hhd 7200rpm , bluray 8gb ram for around 1.7k
15z xps with i7-2640M, 2gb gt525m, 1080p, 256gb ssd, 8gb ram for around 2.15k
