I see it is now possible to get a Kindle 3 with advertising at a cheaper price than the advert free version.

However when I try to order it it tells me that that version is not available for outside of USA. Has anyone successfully ordered one for use in NZ - and does it work.

I have an address I can use to get one, I am happy to have Wi-Fi only and frankly the adverts don't bother me so I am happy to take the cheaper version but I want to be sure it is not going to be a useless paperweight when it arrives.

I suspect it will work as there must be USA residents who have one and want to come to NZ (or anywhere outside of USA) and still be able to use it.

Sorted - I asked Amazon!

Doh!..should have done that first. Their reply states:

"You can use your Kindle with Special offers like a normal Kindle while you are in overseas for reading and purchasing the books from our website. However, the special offers and sponsored screensavers are only available within U.S.
Publishers grant eBook rights on a country by country basis, as a result availability and pricing of titles in the Kindle Store can vary by your home country or region. We are actively working with publishers to get the rights to all titles for every country and adding more selection every day.

Therefore, you'll have to update the country you are currently in, to purchase the Kindle contents from the Kindle store."

Sounds like a good deal as long as you can get it shipped here!

My views (except when I am looking out their windows) are not those of my employer.
