Kiwi Pete: I got the GPS to work but it took several minutes to find the satellites. Plan to test its GPS mode more this weekend. It's a pretty basic GPS device though.

Cool - yes it does does take a while to come up but does work

Apart from GPS throughout the phone im having trouble with the phone reseting itself - anyone else find this? Its only done it 3 times so far but is concerning!!!!! Frown

Has anyone tried the ringtones on this phone, are they loud and clear?! I currently have the Sanyo 9000 phone, if Sanyo had the same phone with bluetooth, id get that but this phone is probably the closest.

Hi there the 6275 is a really good phone I've given mine a severe hammering and I've been pretty impressed with it. I consistently use it on bluetooth with a Parrot Car kit (colour 3200ls Model)
With regards to a great phone to replace the 9000 damager you could look at the 8400 which I used for a month and found to be an excellent handset and it has bluetooth.
Cheers

Got one of these the other day, all seems good. figured i would get me a micro sd card for it, but so far having trouble finding one that actually works and is not a million dollars to buy :) tried a couple of Adata 1 gigs but no go. shows up in the memory as unformatted, but that is about it. anyone else had sucess in sd cards, if so what brand? i have heard mixed results from kingston. and taht sandisk are ok, but they are usually more expensive.
also any decent cases recommended for them. i still have the sceen protector that came with it on, but it is threatning to jump of any time now. so either i need to find some screen protectors that fit or a good case that does :)

I'll try some microSD's next week....

"Mine" (test phone) has reset twice, once on wed and once today... hmmmm.... still much more reliable than most and for once, a Nokia CDMA handset seems "complete" and "from scratch" rather than just being a hack-up job off a older GSM model to use up parts. the video mode seems very poor (compared to my Nokia 6234) and the UI is quicker than the 6265 but slightly slower than the GSM Nokia 6234 (and the 6275i is 100 times more reliable, the 6234 had some serious problems with data corruptions, go Vodafone-firmware)

linking back to the GPS discussion. i have downloaded mobile gmaps as a java application which im running off the memory card. Its a great little app and combines the gps coordinates from the inbuilt gps with google maps and mapipedia, yahoo etc. It looks really impressive but the problem I have is that to download the maps its using 'off menu wap' at 5cents per kb.
Is there any way to make this cheaper? as a typical single screenshot is 30-50kb?

Well just got my 6275 (rip 6265 :() and must admit i am liking the sleek design =D In regards to cases, you can buy a crystal case off ebay for around $10 NZ inc shipping. I have just bought a 2gb kingston card (my 1gb worked in the 6265) so will let you know how that goes, that was $35 off ebay. Now, i just need to get the phone onto the network lol i have a feeling they havent set it up properly....yay for the 0800 prepaid number overloading ...

I know this might be a bit left field ...

I've been offered the 6275 as a work phone.

I've just spent 2 hours reading dozens of reviews of how cool the camera is, how nice it looks, what printers it works with, how many mp3's it holds, what games you can get, how good the ringtones are etc etc

I don't believe there is one mention of anyone actually making a phone call with one of these things!!!

All I want to know is:

* is it any good as a phone,
* is the reception range any good, and
* does the audio hardware deteriorate quickly like other nokias

Thanks in advance!

I just got one of these phones today. A few test calls, and its sounding great. I also have a Parrot 3200-LS bluetooth kit (which has just been replaced under warranty), so it will be good to get that hooked up and test it out on the kit over bluetooth too.

I have also just ordered a Sandisk 1GB micro-SD from flashcards.co.nz for $40 delivered. The 2GB was $93 delivered, but I just dont know that I need 2GB on my phone....

No you can not. In New Zealand this is aganst the privacy act, and no NZ build phones *should* be able todo this, with Telecom anyway.
