Hi guys,

I thought I would let the forum know about some information I came across.  According to a Telecom Rep who did a presentation at one of my bros Auckland Uni lectures VDSL2 residential offering will be open at the beginning of 2013.

Chorus Wholesale VDSL service has been available for ages for ISP's to use. Technically it's been in "soft launch" and all the rep is telling you it that it's status is changing to full launch.

The status change doesn't make any practical difference really, you can already get VDSL2 from quite a few ISP's eg: Snap, Maxnet, Unleash, DTS.. etc

Maybe Telecom will actually start offering VDSL2 in 2013, better late than never I guess....

Telecom is working hard to make VDSL available in their BB offer as soon as possible. Its Not a rumour.

I've also heard from Gen-i that Telecom Retail is planning to offer VDSL2 (didn't give any timeframes).
