Hey guys,

Just looking to see if there is any interest in a port of my Skinny Mobile app to Telecom, (http://skinnyapp.co.nz/).

I've begun a port on iOS to support prepaid Telecom phones so far. Same UI, just interacts with Telecom instead.

Would anyone be interested in purchasing an app similar to this? If so how much would you pay? $1.29?

to be honest, I would pay nothing for it.

Devils advocate:

I can access telecom details for free already via the browser which is one click on my home screen, authenticated automatically, so why would I need an app to do the same thing? (....and why would I pay for it?)

Fair enough, don't think it would be everyone. I just found the site too hard to use for a quick look into your account as I did with the Skinny website.

or the consume app which you can sometimes get for free, and covers telecom (mobile and broadband), telstraclear, vodafone, 2degrees...

The Consume app normally only shows you your balance on Prepaid last I checked, not sure on Postpaid. Also it breaks so often its not even funny.

Yeah it does...I'm just pointing out there are alternatives.  And I'd imagine you might have the same issues since they don't provide an api for getting usage information.

But by all means give it a go.

Mostly my issues so far with the Skinny version are just keeping up with their weekly plan changes. As Telecom doesn't change plans too often I think I'll be sweet.

Got the system working so I can update the locations and data points from my own site. Makes changes like that so much easier to push out to apps rather than waiting for reviews.
