Ok, I went into Telecom in Lower Hutt to purchase the Samsung Galaxy S3 on the 24month contract and what I did was replace my old sim card with a new one, transferred my old number across, credited the $41 credit to the new Telecom contract account - all of that was done and the lady at the store said it would be out of action for around 4 hours. Well, here is the problem, it is now 3:15am and on the status it says:

Service State: Out of Service
Mobile Network Station: Disconnected

Anyone know what is happening? I've checked the new SIM on my old iPhone 4 and I get the same result regarding not connecting to the network - are there instances where it might take longer than 4 hours? anyone able to follow up on it - the call centre is closed and my only phone (the one I'm having problems with) I can't make a call with.

It's probably still in progress. Give 0800800163 a go and ask them.

BTR: Telecoms service order probably bombed out.

I felt like a right twitt - shut down, pulled out the battery and then rebooted 5 times and no improvement but suddenly when I went to the store the person did the very same thing on on reboot everything is working. Oh well, everything is working perfectly - Samsung has definitely made one heck of a gorgeous mobile :D
