Have Telecom cancelled the 4+4 Gig.mobile broadband plan that was offered a few years ago, just received a bill for 300 odd dollars and when I checked, it show 4 gig plan and I was being charged for the extra 4 gig at the penalty rate.
I'm sure there was no time limit when this plan was offered and have in fact recently been told by Telecom when I queried a bill that I was on the best plan for my usage, and no I have not yet contacted Telecom.

Yes, I don't believe this plan has been available for some time.

The plan was a xmas special one off, but I don't recall it having a time limit, however for them to change it without advising me is a bit over the top. Will be in contact with them tomorrow. Trolling Google for the plan details..

This is what's still advertised

4GB plan $80 monthly $70 discounted 4GB allowance $80 for the next 4GB then after that 10c per MB

Yes the current plan has been around for a number of years but I have been on the 4+4 up until this last month when they apparently have dropped me back to the current 4gig plan with no prior notice, the result being that I used up my 8 gigs as usual and ended up with a large bill which I intend to challenge and take my business elsewhere. I am very annoyed.

Did the $300 include other charges as 8G would be $80/$70 +$80 ie $160 max.

they have put me on the 4gig plan and charged me an extra $40 for the extra 4 gigs and 10c a MB for 200+ MB's
They are in breach of the Terms and Conditions which state that they have to give my a months notice of any change of plan.
I am very disappointed in them. Will see what eventuates tomorrow.

That would be 140 bucks, not 300.

I'm watching this with interest. I have the same 4 + 4 free plan which the contract runs out in December. While I've never used the full 8G I'm well over the 4G every month.

was the extra 4GB advertised as bonus data?

If so that would not make it part of your plan.

I do however agree that they should tell you when an offer is withdrawn.

Have found the contract dated 7 Jan 2010. 24 month 4GB plus 4GB xmas bonus ?
Will be in touch with them this morning for an explanation as to why no warning of plan change, after all they have allowed it to roll. on past 24 months.

Have it all sorted..back to 4GB..credited for the excess..evidently not letting plans roll on for to long past their expiry date..oh well it was good while i had it..have to curb my tv on demand viewing etc..very nice lady at telecom has restored my faith in them..watch out for xmas specials.

Not sure whether to laugh or cry, have just checked my data usage and what do you know, I'm back on the 4 + 4 free plan.
Will check with Telecom when I get a spare minute or two.

If I were you I wouldn't be bothering Telecom about it anymore. Wink

I did think of that but then may get billed for going over 4 GB, like last moth. Will sleep on it.

The result is that I'm back on 4GB + 4GB free, now that's nice.
