Is it possible to push the profile update or is it just a matter of waiting?

BigMal: In a change of fortune Telecom have rung me and told me I can have VDSL.  The have scheduled the install for this Thursday - Hooray!

The said they'd send me a VDSL modem to use.  I told them they'd already sent me a VDSL modem and that I didn't need a another one.  Turns out they had no record of sending me the first VDSL modem :-)

Anyway, looking forward to finally getting a decent upload speed.  My current ADSL2 sync rates are 17Mb down and 1Mb up so it'll be interesting to see what it improves to with VDSL.

How much are they charging?

At the moment the same price as ADSL.  Not sure if that'll be the case come full launch.

Telecom seem to be having trouble getting VDSL for me.

Anyone have experience with non-Telecom VDSL -- who's the best out there?

I can get it - cabinet enabled and I'm 450m from the cabinet. Telecom won't supply, others will.

Profile has been updated and I'm now getting some nice speeds.

700KB upload speed to mega.

3MB download on a linux distro.

Pretty happy with that :-)

What is the reason you can't get VDSL Jono? Is it because you can't get on the trial, or because Telecom's systems say that you don't qualify?

Peter has got me on the trial, but the systems say I don't qualify.

Yep, agree. One of my jobs this weekend is to look at Snap plans.
