Hi

I am thinking of buying a Treo 750..

Does it cost the earth to Download data over the telecom network. It is my hope to browse to my own server to get work data. Most likely it will be a small text file with meaning to me..

Cheers Possum

The prices depend on what mobile data plan you are on.

The casual rates are $8 per MB but the bigger the plan - the cheaper the cost per mb.  If you're transferring a large amount of data it would be recommended to use a data plan rather than the casual plan (costs can get high quickly).

Do you Mean the Treo 750(v) or the Treo 700wx? The 750v is on Vodafone while the 700wx is on Telecom.

No real difference with the phones, just one is a Vodafone (GSM/WCDMA) device and the other Telecom (CDMA).

There are a number plans that Telecom offer.

1) Flexi - $10month/$1perMB
2) Mobile Broadband20* $22.22/month 20 included MB per billing cycle $1perMB there after
3) Mobile Broadband50 $35/month 50 included MB per billing cycle $0.95perMB there after
4) Mobile Broadband 200 Plus $39.95/month 200 included MB per billing cycle $0.50perMB there after (double your data cap for $10)
5) Mobile Broadband 1GB Plus $59.95/month 1024 included MB per billing cycle $0.50perMB there after (double your data cap for $10)

*Smartphones only. All Prices exclude GST.

All depends on how much data you plan to use, althrough it is worth noting that you will get 1months free MB20 when you upgrade or connect with a Treo 700wx.
