Hey guys

So Telecom will soon be sending me one of their techicolor modem/routers in the upcoming week. I currently have been using a adsl thomson ST5x6v6 modem (non router).

When this new modem/router comes in, i want to bridge it with my current Netgear router. Is this possible with these technicolor modems?

I'm bridging two TG582n Modems which i presume is what you will be receiving from telecom. I'm no expert on the matter and im sure there are people who can correct me or explain better but I will tell you what i know.

Your TG582n will of course be your main modem router.

You will need to have your routers tethered by Ethernet as the TG582n doesn't support WDS (which is heavily unreliable anyway)

Do the following:

Set the IP Addresses manually for both routers.
Turn off Dynamic DNS
Manually set the routers to work on different channels.

Easy as that haha.

There are guides online and even on this forum as thats where i figured out how to do it but i will have to get back to you on those URLs.

Ignore the telnet stuff as its not required. This wont explain how to do it with the netgear router but the principle is the same.
