I'm pretty much on the fringe for VDSL2 with sync rates of approx 22234 kbps / 10357 kbps. I started on DLM-6, moved to DLM-4, then DLM-2 and settled at what I suspect is DLM-1 or somerthing nearby, as I now have figures of INP=0.00 and Delay=0.00ms   so you aren't alone.

It's stayed that way for several days now and I've been connected for 16 days now.

Tivo upgrades to operate with the new OzTivo EPG, support and service. Over 300 performed here so far.

Mine has changed this morning, and my modem is also reporting delay of 0.00ms and INP of 0.00, so I assume that I am also at DLM-1? I'm pretty sure yesterday I was on DLM-2. I'm getting wireless down speeds of around 26-27mbps, which is in my "I'm happy with that" zone, being on the fringe of our VDSL area.

The wireless card for my Mac Pro is in transit from the US, so by the time it arrives my connection should have settled. I will then be able to install that, get rid of the USB wireless adapter I've been using (which I suspect is probably throttling my speed a little), and see if any improvements occur.

I've heard talk that the Telecom Technicolour modems don't have the greatest wireless performance. Would I benefit from getting a better router and putting the Technicolour into bridging mode, or is it not worth it considering my maximum line capability is only about 38mpbs? Currently my computer is upstairs from the modem so the floor will be absorbing some of the signal. I have a few friends who've done it on their UFB connections and experienced quite a good improvement in speeds.

I was booked in for yesterday, but the day before that Telecom phoned to advise the roadside cabinet didn't have the hardware installed by Chorus as yet, because I am the first in the area to get VDSL2 from that cabinet. So now having to wait for Chorus to install the card....

Just one thing that happened today (and I could be wrong here so don't blame me if I am!). But VDSL2 installs are now free (not sure if limited time, but currently applies) rather than the standard $99 install for a 12 month contract.

So why wouldn't you want VDSL :)

Ahh dam it! I don't suppose I'd still be eligible for this free connection as I'm still not connected yet, or I'll assume the worst as I've already signed up under the $99 connection fee...going with the latter. :-S

You're probably right about the latter since the order is already in the system. Worth asking 123 New & Moves when your install goes through about it. They may be able to help, or they may not be able to. No harm in asking.

I have replied to my initial email confirming my order to see if I can get the free connection, no worries if not :)

I got installed Tuesday last week (the 13th), received a bill a couple of days later (on the 15th, my normal billing day) and all the VDSL stuff was on there... contract info, new monthly fee, modem (free of charge), but no install charge. So if I wasn't charged, I would suggest you won't be either. One of my colleagues phoned Telecom last week to enquire about VDSL and was told that existing Telecom customers wouldn't pay the $99 fee.

Well to tell you the truth I ordered it back in July and the modem got sent out, the install was delayed 3 weeks due to issues in the cabinet. On our July bill there was the charge and credit for the modem, no install charge but also no VDSL package info since we had not been connected yet. I had just assumed the install charge would follow after the installation. Fingers crossed it wont show up.

Fingers crossed! I had no idea about the free install so I initially thought that maybe that bit would show up on the next bill, but then when my colleague told me what they had been advised, I figured that was too much of a coincidence.
