Looking for a telecom compatible USB Modem which supports voice capability. Either out of the box, or through DC-Unlocker (https://www.dc-unlocker.com/supported_models_1/)

Example of one of these is the Huawei E1552 on 2degrees. You can unlock voice capability using DC-Unlocker.
As far as i can tell the ZTE MF626, MF180, MF190 all don't support this, though i could be wrong. There's also the Sierra 326u, but that seems to also lack voice.

If anyone has a T-Stick and can confirm voice capability (or lack of) via the free version of DC Unlocker that would be useful.

Objective is linking it up to Freeswitch (http://wiki.freeswitch.org/wiki/GSMopen#Voice_calls_and_SMS). Unless someone wants to sell me a cheap WCDMA SIP Gateway :p

Hmm, I have I think a GSM (2G) version of the matrix gateway, so Vodafone 2degrees only.
@eXDee flick me a message in interested.

Just a touch out of my price range :p
For VF/2degrees i'd just use one of the many many huawei sticks that support this. Basically a poor mans WCDMA SIP gateway. Unfortunately i'm not in 2100mhz coverage so i can't use it on telecom.

Very hard to find a huawei modem that works on 850mhz. I've only found the telstra huawei e353t so far, which I can't tell if it supports voice or not. Seems some newer firmwares might.

Ah i must have glanced over that E3531 because it wasn't on the DC-Unlocker page model listing.

That might work, if someone has one and can run the check on it with the DC-Unlocker software, that would be great.

Output looks like this (pulled from random internet search)

Found modem : E160X
Model : Huawei E160/E160G/E160X
IMEI : [removed]
Serial NR. : DY7NAA1910510644
Firmware : 11.609.10.02.432
Compile date / time : Nov 16 2009 19:39:56
Hardware ver. : CD25TCPU
Dashboard version : UTPS11.030.01.04.03
Chipset : Qualcomm MSM6246
NAND Flash : SAMSUNG_K91G08
Voice feature : disabled
SIM Lock status : unlocked
Wrong codes entered : 0 (unlock attempts left : 10)

If it says disallowed by current firmware, then sometimes you can write updated firmware to the device if its read/write.

Making calls isn't a concern, I have access to a few voip lines for that.

I want to receive inbound calls and SMS into freeswitch.

Argh, that's a pain. Thank you for checking for me, was considering buying one. Im guessing thats even after waiting a minute or two for the modem to initilize and then trying the "detect modem" button too. Oh and you have to make sure that the Mobile broadband software isn't running, as it can take control of the device.
Back to the drawing board on that one...

Wonder if you can do VOIP over this T-Stick and will they work on the likes of a TG582n router??
