newbellies: No torrents. The last few times it's gone down I have been using DNS proxy on AppleTV.

As it turns out, I have two of these modems. [I called up Telecom to send me pre-paid courier bag so that I could return the extra modem but it never arrived] Should I try swapping the modem out? Or is the TG589vn v2 considered a lemon?

Thanks again for your replies.

The TG589vn is "ok"... But the newer modems Telecom are giving out now which are the Huawei ones are excellent. I haven't tested the wifi between the two boxes (hey if you have a spare 589, feel free to send it to me ) flick me an email "pl at" and I can run a line test.

Come by and grab the extra modem! I'm not actually using the wireless in this case though. Can I buy the Huawei ones from stores? (or which ever one is the best)

Cheers for offer of line test. I guess next time I notice the internet being terrible, will ping you then if you don't mind about the line test. It's working great today.
