Those around the block long enough will remember familiar history repeating itself:

Jetstream (post 1999), Go Large (2006), Big Time (~2009)  - all died a horrible death within months of introduction

Bait. Switch.

If there is one thing Telecom is good at is they have a powerful arsenal of Saatchi & Saatchi marketing folk behind them. And they do a damn good job and you can bet there are dollar signs crossed over their eyes with the yet another rebrand and logo change. Part of the reason I turned down the industry even having a major in marketing degree. Yes, more money in IT :)

maybe it is a ploy to attract people/

anyway, it looks like a direct replacement to 500gb? so people who want more than 150gb but not throttled will have to leave telecom?

It was jetstart, not jetstream that was the unlimited (128kbit) plan.. I've been around longer than that. Characterising it as Bait and Switch is utterly unfair. None of those plans started out with the intent of discontinuing them.

Cheers- N

The 500GB plan is still available, just not actively advertised. You can however ring up and ask for it.

How much does it cost?

Also do you have a set priorities list for the traffic shaping?

Thanks for the correction - but message is the same to point events in time. Don't get me wrong, any sustainable business will need to maintain the bottom line and drive revenue growth and Telecom/Spark is doing just that that. The very fact this thread exists and the Telecom branding is front page on many news and search engines is a huge success from marketing generating exposure right from the get go.

Let us do a checkpoint 12-18 months time and see where unlimited fibre will be in the playing field. I along with many others would like to see the execution done right this time. 4th time lucky.
