I wouldn't class his post as astroturfing at all. It's clear he's from Snap and he prefaced it with "BLATANT PLUG"...

I mean, it's not classy, but it's not astroturfing either :-)

Cheers - N

Oh, and having seen our ad for this service, I am not entirely sure we can hold the high ground on classy.

Cheers - N

firefuze: fyi - My "Unlimited" TiVo broadband package has started to be metered! ;(

No communication advising this has come from Telecom, my month has just rolled over and metering has started...

Other TiVo owners should check...

It stopped a few hours later.

I am with Neil on this one folks. It's a bit different from other users who I ended blocking from posting in some forums (yes, a new "feature" introduced a couple of months back).

I think it's called being ironic. While I see the ad for the truly horrific rapping, appalling humor and sometimes questionable scenes... I personally think it's quite humorous and a major departure from the somewhat stale and traditional forms of advertising we have used in the past..

Or otherwise said... h8ters gonna h8. Word!!

Yeah, not astroturfing, but still.

This forum would be a lot less fun if every thread on each ISP sub forum was filled with posts from other ISPs saying ' hey we have xxxx, switch to us'

quakeguy: BLATANT PLUG: Snap do unlimited between 1am and 7am for anyone with a data pack - and we won't traffic manage a thing. :-)

Just FYI, Mauricio doesn't look too kindly on ISP staff posting stuff like that in other ISPs threads.

Yep... no astroturfing is even part of the FUG

Surely it's not astroturfing when the post literally says "plug" and the poster is identified in the side bar as working for said company.

Cheers,
Joseph

Edit. Whoops, lol. Didn't realise I was on the penultimate page of the thread. Carry on please!

Wonder if I'd get a discount for being on a congested ASAM no need to throttle traffic...

Tim

P.S. result below blazingly fast at the moment...

As the old saying goes, you get what you pay for. I won't use an unlimited plan for that reason.

Nice to see Telecom, the market copiers putting one on their 'round-to-it' list.

since it's not advertised, how much is telecom's 500gb plan?
and - if I move to postpaid mobile, can my excess usage be $0.00 (to behave like a prepay)?

I emailed Telecom to ask about the 500GB pricing so if you don't get the answer from someone else here I will let you know when Telecom reply.
