I just got switched over today to the unlimited plan from the 500GB plan just to save the $10. I figured no shaping would occur for a while. Normally I download at 7-8MB/s and limit downloads(not torrents) with Netlimiter to 7MB/s so I can do other things. Today it maxes out at 5MB/s. Perhaps since it is the school holidays and a lot of kids are on YouTube forced an early start to the shaping.
Anyone else noticed any difference?

No, the shaping has not yet begun.

LittleDude: It would good to know if Telecom also sets some kind of limit for unlimited plan even during off peak times.
Seems strange that Telecom's own speed test site shows a considerable drop in speed and my downloads hit a brickwall at 5MB/s(was 8)
the day I'm switched over from the 500GB plan. I will definitely consider changing to BigPipe when my 12 months is up.

Any slowdown you have seen so far is not as a result of traffic management or being on the unlimited plan.

Cheers - N
