I connect to my Xtra email using IMAP so I can synchronize my mail between devices, but since yesterday I have been getting intermittent connection issues. "Your IMAP server closed the connection" in Outlook, and iOS taking ages to check for mail before finally succeeding.

I am using:

imap.mail.yahoo.com    ssl port 993
smtp.mail.yahoo.com    ssl port 465

Other people I know who have their email clients configured this way are having the same problems.

Their is nothing in Telecom's network status about this, and I can't find a Yahoo service status.

Does anyone know any more about this?

Thanks

I assume you and the other people have logged a fault?
I'll see if I can find out if any thing is known.

What can I do if I am using IMAP and I have a problem?
To identify where the issue has occurred, try to access your account using Webmail. If you can access your account using webmail, there is an issue with the IMAP account setup. We cannot provide any direct support for this issue and recommend you use Webmail or POP3. Thanks for the replies. It seemed to resolve itself after about a day.
