Not much point in pre orders if there is insufficient stock. I find that quite misleading on their part.

And what phone did you order?


I ordered a 6+ in Space Grey via 'Pay with first bill' i.e splitting the cost of the phone over 24 months.

Yatey: Just received a Twitter DM from Spark stating I wouldn't be receiving one tomorrow. I signed up on an open term plan at midnight last friday, which leads me to believe they are now prioritising people who have signed up to 24 month contracts.

Very disappointed considering all of the positive public communication Spark have said over the last week regarding the likelihood of preorders being shipped this Friday. Why set expectations so high when in reality it was always very unrealistic?

Sorry Bro that is sux. I guess they are only fulfilling the orders for customers who signed up for contract as they going to make more money out of them in 24 months, so They will complete those orders and leave the open terms customers on back orders. Soon you will be getting an email saying they are short of stock so you will have to wait until another wave of shipments comes in.  No cool Spark Not cool.

I got a 6 Space Grey 64GB. the difference with me is that they've actually charged my credit card the full price of the phone.
If I still don't get one I'll be pissed. ordered at 12:12 am

Ordered a 64GB 6+, if I don't get the phone hoping I can just get rid of the order, mostly so I can change to a 6. I'm not really that worried if I have to wait a few more weeks, it's not the end of the world.

I believe that the 6+ models are more constrained than the normal 6 models, which could explain it. I haven't had any cancellation notification as of yet (64 GB grey 6).

Yes I agree. It is unfair of Spark to originally offer the purchase of the phone on an open term plan, then prevent the ability of customers to do this after witnessing the popularity of this option, and to now seemingly not treat these customers as equal to the ones who signed up on a 24 month contract.

As contract based customers are obviously a priority to carriers, why offer the open term ability to begin with?

I just contacted Spark online chat with my reference number and she gave me a courier number. Putt hat into courier post online and its been picked up. I now feel much happier.

I suggest everyone else try this before chat closes (bout 10 min wait too)

Thanks for that - I ordered the same model, also on open term, and my order was at about the same time (my GZ post saying I'd ordered is stamped 12:14 so the order was probably submitted at about 12:13). I won't pester Spark but it sounds like it'll make it :)

DM them and just get a generic response about hopefully but its under high demand.. they should be able to confirm yes or no at this time in the day
