I told Slingshot rep to port my Spark broadband connection to slingshot, and to port my Spark landline number to iTalk last month. And the Switch-over date is today. But today's slingshot rep told me that she only ported the Spark broadband connection to slingshot, but she didn't port the spark landline number to iTalk because she forgot. And the rep told tonight that she will contact Spark again tomorrow to see if she can port my landline number from Spark to Slingshot.

Right now, my landline is still active, and I suppose my landline connection is still being provided by Spark.
So my question is: will Slingshot still be able to port my Spark landline number to Slingshot?? I really need this landline number.

Or maybe I will go back to Spark in the future. and will I be able to get my landline number back from Spark?

Please people ! Help me out!

Right now, my broadband connection has been switched over to slingshot and is being provided by Slingshot. My landline connection should stop working by now because I ordered naked broadband from slingshot. . But it still has dial tone, and I can still ring somebody. I don't know what's going on here.

As long as your landline number is still active with Spark, Slingshot should be able to port that number over. You would be able to port that number back to Spark in the future provided it remains active on iTalk.

Not very good customer service on Slingshot's part in forgetting to port your number over.

You can churn a broadband connection to naked, leaving POTS intact. Then port POTS number after. It's pretty normal process.

Chorus has spent $1.4 billion on making their xDSL broadband network faster. If your still stuck on ADSL or VDSL, why not spend from $150 on a master filter install to make sure you are getting the most out of your connection?

Why did Slingshot rep told me tonight that they are not sure if they can port the landline number to slingshot? Am I not supposed to lose landline connection when I port broadband to a naked broadband ?

If broadband on a Spark ADSL/POTS on line is churned, the POTS is disconnected.

If your POTS line has been disconnected Slingshot have no way of porting that number as it's no longer active. In reality they can't offer any assistance at all, you have to deal with Spark yourself as only the last customer has the ability to get that number back within the first month.

Your best option right now is to ring Spark, explain what has happened and ask for your old number to be reactivated and converted to a Customerlink. This will cost you money. Once the Customerlink is activated you can then get Slingshot to port that number.

Do the customerlink thing if they cant sort it, but IME it takes a short time for the POTS to actually be killed off so the port should work.
