Hi ppl,

I'm using Netflix US via Unotelly over a Spark VDSL connection (via a Cabinet in Wainuiomata),

It seems to struggle getting above 480p, sometimes will reach 720p but not for very long and will even drop to a lower qual for a while.

I'm watching it using a 2012 ver Sony Home theater, have tested it using the netflix app in our Samsung TV with the same result.

Router is a Spark supplied Huawei HG630b, bridged into an Apple Airport Extreme, connected via ethernet.

Speed wise I'm connected around 38mb down, 15mb up (capped at 10), on a speed test I max out around 35mb on both ethernet and wireless (using wireless AC).

Our friends across the road are using a similar setup but are on ADSL2+ with Spark, using unblock-us and don't seem to have any qual issues.

Would the zip code I've told netflix I'm at have anything to do with the server I am streaming off? any other ideas?

No - the zip code provided in your account/billing details shouldn't really have any bearing on the servers you're using.

I use Unotelly as well and don't have the issues you're experiencing, admittedly on a Fibre connection presently but was using them whilst on VDSL also.

Which DNS servers are you using from Unotelly?

There is a NZ one which should be set to primary, and then I believe the Aussie one starting with 54 pings best to us generally for the secondary/fallback. I'm at work at the moment so cannot check them specifically, but will take a look when I get home as well.

Are you using unotelly vpn or dns? Vpn alot slower

If you are using UnoVPN try dropping your MTU to < 1300.  I use 1250 and it works ok.
