We've just taken delivery of one of the newer HG659B routers and I am trying to change the host IP address to 192.168.2.1 as our DHCP range currently uses 192.168.2.100-253 and every time I try to change it I get 'Invalid IP address' error.

Looking at the Spark website How to's I can see there is a comment saying "The guest Wi-Fi feature has been defaulted to use IP range 192.168.2.x by design and will not work if amended" so i am wondering if this is what's preventing me from assigning the host IP?

This will be a major pain in the wotsits as we have a number of printers that have the IP address/DNS server statically configured so not being able to set up the router as a like for like swap will be nasty.

Bit of a late reply. Did you ever find a solution to this? I've come across the same issue, and it's a pain to change the existing subnet from 192.168.2.0.24.

Looks like you can change the guest subnet via telnet, but it uses a different password from the web interface and I can't find it anywhere.

EDIT: I started a different thread regarding gaining telnet access before this thread was unlocked, so really just curious if there is another means to change the guest subnet.

No, got told there's nothing they can do, Spark pointed to Huawei and they pointed to Spark!

I don't understand that.  I use 10.1.1.1 as a start for my class-C LAN without any problem.

As an aside, you did not mention if you have the guest WiFi actually enabled so I assume you don't.
