There's been some chatter on LET (LowEndTalk) and other forums recently about strange routing via NTT all around the globe. It seems to only effect routes that traverse NTT, and a lot of people have been seeing NTT rather than their normal provider. I've been seeing NTT for the last week to online.net servers via Snap Fibre, including via Mumbai which is a new one.

Tracing route to ns323060.ip-94-23-206.eu [94.23.206.222]

Once again, Vocus International has superior routing to europe. Global gateway seems to always have rubbish routing to europe, i've yet to find an IP range that doesn't hop all over the place, or take an asymmetric route that circumnavigates the globe.

Someone i know is actually looking to move ISP specifically to one with vocus upstream (hasn't picked yet) because they are sick of the global gateway routes.

There a list somewhere of ISP's that use Vocus? Getting sick of the terrible Europe routing now

Edit: NVM, forgot about ispmap http://www.ispmap.co.nz/realtime.php

Why can't I see any references to Spark or it's ISPs on there?

Can't really see any isp's that I'd be compelled to use, that go via Vocus :/

Maxnet would be ideal, but $124 for naked unlimited + $10/mth for a static IP. . .

Same here - all the Vocus ISP's seem to be ones I've not had the best experiences with.

Personally I've always said stick with the big boys - they tend to have the biggest backhaul and therefore perform well.

Voyager?

Vocus has has its own share of problems too: had OVH traffic going through Australia last year, with noticeable packet loss and significant drop in speeds (from ~9MB/s to ~1MB/s.) Lasted for a week or two IIRC.

Hmm interesting. Do Voyager go through Vocus? I don't know how up to date that ispmap is but currently Voyager is only listed as going via Telstraclear

I can barely get more than 5Mbit/s to OVH at the moment thanks to the round the world trip routing via GG atm.

Worst of all the two ISP's I have at home, Snap and Spark, are both affected :|

Looks broken to me. I can see some inaccuracies.

I personally use bgp.he.net but takes a bit of knowledge to drive.

Who runs ispmap.co.nz? I wonder if they could update it.

M2 ISP's (Slingshot/Orcon,Flip,2Talk) all use Vocus as the primary upstream. Also, Vocus and M2 have just announced a company merger so there is little danger of any change to the routing .
