Managed to install it via that link. Bit of a mission, though!

Clicked that link, signed in, clicked accept. It said that I'm in, and provided a download link.

Opened that link using the play store, and it just have me an error. App didn't show in my play app list either.

Opened the download link in chrome, showed the app page. Clicked install, received install error.

Checked play app list, app now shown. Clicked install using play store app, install succeeded.

Outstanding user experience, Google!

there are definitely some oddities if you have multiple google accounts.  It will go very screwy if you try and open the link using a different, but linked, account, so that might be the case with yout

Glad it's all installed now though.  (Needless to say, once it goes live properly you won't have this issue - it's only because the access is currently restricted)

I've definitely used the same email to login, so that shouldn't be the case for me.

Is the second tab (with the globe icon) supposed to show anything? It's currently blank for me (even after refreshing.)

First impression is that I find the interface a bit non-intuitive.

You can select the mode by touching the left hand side of the bar for the mode you want and the tick appears on the right side of the bar over the Info button. If you try to untick the mode by touching the tick it instead shows the info.

My first reaction was to try to scroll the list of modes to see if it went further. Because I was just using the thumb on my left hand it just randomly selected modes.

I'm not sure I can notice any difference but maybe my test is invalid.

I'm on ADSL, wired connection.

I was trying out Netflix and then Fast.com and when nothing else was happening both were reporting about 15 Mbps.

I then kicked off a single Ubuntu torrent and gave it time to get up to speed. Fast.com results dropped to around 750 Kbps-1000 Kbps.

I then switched my mode to Streaming expecting to see an improvement in fast.com results and the torrent slow down but I couldn't notice any difference really except for normal fluctuations.

I tried switching mode to Downloading and also didn't notice any difference.

Modem is a Netcomm NF8AC.

currently it takes about 10-15 seconds for the modes to switch (this will be fixed in the next day or two to make it take only a second or two) so if you are running fast.com immediately after making the switch so I wonder if that might explain it.

If you do it again, please try also switching to browsing mode, wait 15 seconds, then run a speedtest.net test

(could you also report whether you are using a different DNS  or some other method to access US netflix or not. I don't know if it would make any difference, but possibly)

thanks.

it's for notifications (e.g. outage or upcoming planned maintenance). Since we haven't sent you anything yet, it won't contain anything for now/  We

ll do some tests in a day or two once enough people are using the app

Just a potential feature improvement and something I really like what the Skinny app does is a simple heads up when payment is due to go out - maybe a warning like "Oh hey! So, your broadband bill of xx is due to go out on this day" - sure I could set a reminder but I'm pretty forgetful and normally keep the absolute minimum in my visa debit card so normally have to transfer funds over and make a manual payment. This way, I can have the funds there ready for BigPipe to collect first time.

I keep being told to just make a manual payment by the site but as per the tweet each month the site literally gives me a blank error each time :(

A way to avoid this and to shut me up is to click on my referral link, join BigPipe, get this epic app and in the process telling others to use my link to assist with paying my bill but even still I can't win every month!

Otherwise great app! I actually referred somebody at work after showing them this app since they're having problems with Vodafone and flatmates downloading combined with gaming, plus it actually works out cheaper for them to join BigPipe. I did explain the app is not available for everyone yet but he is excited for the time it is :) I think you'll get many customers due to this - especially gamers. This is not like MyRepublics gamers plan, in my testing this actually works and isn't a marketing placebo!

I used the streaming feature last night. I was able to watch the entire first half of the state of origin in good and stable quality. I'm a very happy camper.

cheers - nice idea.  the app could definitely do that, but it;s more reliant on our back end billing system to automate it - which would require a bit of work. Can certainly add it to the roadmap though.

Just a quick update.  Based on some early feedback we've made a small change to the way the data is displayed.

Instead of showing you the last 1hr's worth of traffic, (and this was actually bugged anyway and not working properly)  it will now show you the last 5 minutes.

Much more useful for troubleshooting i.e. if my video starts buffering I want to be able to see if downloading is chewing up my capacity right now, not 45 minutes ago.

It would be great to be able to choose whether you want to see the last 5 minutes, last hour, last week, last month etc.

Showing Gigabytes would be interesting too
