As long as it's a naked connection it is indeed best to remove all possible weak links in the connection, including all previously installed filters.
I would suggest though that you keep your disruption to your current VDSL connection to a minimum as it can be seen as connection instability during the DLM period and could cause a downgrade. I experienced the first time around. I was use to rebooting my ADSL router frequently to establish a better sync rate, which worked well, however with VDSL it doesn't work at all, it simply is seen as unstable and tries to correct for it.
Something to keep in mind while DLM is establishing a profile.
There was actually a compelling argument posted by a chorus guy for why filters actually benefit naked lines.
Physics wise, it made a lot sense. Real world, i would tend to agree. It is another point that can fail.
