was wondering:

current skinny customers: can they buy a $2 sim and activate then transfer another skinny number across?

I don't see how it's silly. You bought 2 $2 product and found that if you spent another $2 you get $1000s of dollars worth. Why wouldn't you?

Not silly for me, silly for Skinny as it must cost them $ to sell ($4) and courier for free 2x new SIM cards when they could have just 'flicked a switch' in the office and given us the weekend data offer.

I believe so:

If you have bought a new SIM but want to keep the same Skinny account, you can. Once you've bought your new SIM card, you just need to pop the new SIM Serial Number that starts with '64..' (printed on the SIM card itself) into this form, and then hit the 'SWAP SIM' button below. We'll then transfer your phone number onto the new SIM card. Turn your phone off, wait 5 minutes, turn it on again and you should be good to go.

Some systems will not just let you "flick a switch" if you need to a new sim and a new account then that is what needs to be done, no point telling them to "flick a switch" when they can't.

given you didnt meet the criteria why should they though? you didnt know the promotion was on, you assumed you had to register your sim as soon as you got it, and you lost out on the data you didnt know you could have had, had you have waited.

i think i should get it too but i activated my sims in august close enough right?

Don't know about you, but I only activated the SIM - never left it in the phone, nor used any Skinny services till 4/11.

And in your case you will probably qualify for the Xmas bonuses. CS looked my account up and said I don't as not a customer long enough. So I miss out both ways, at least you should get one bonus offer (the Xmas one).

When you do a SIM swap you are not setup as a new customer.  Your original activation date remains.  Therefore you won't qualify for the offer by doing this.

Hi Steve

I have looked into this thread and understand your frustration.  Therefore despite the fact that per the conditions you don't qualify for the offer I have added your SIMS to the campaign.

Regards

Paul

It is all explained here https://www.skinny.co.nz/freedataweekends/

Grab a new Skinny Mobile SIM and activate it before 16th January 2017. Then jump on a $16, $26 or $46 Monthly Combo and make sure your Combo doesn’t expire before the weekend rolls in. Then, hey presto! You’ll be 2GB data richer, just like that!

I don't think that is a good thing to do or fair on others who might have done the same thing. The conditions are the conditions. Fair enough if their was some error on Skinny's part but in this situation there wasn't - they'd already made the decision to move based on their own criteria so they weren't actually missing out on anything they thought they were getting.

EDIT: Say, I jumped the gun too by a little over 1600 days and I'd like to be on the 2GB free weekends. Could you arrange that, since the conditions aren't really set in stone? Yes, I'm being facetious.
