It all started with a call from a Spark telemarketer which got me thinking.
Currently we are with WxC (now part of Vodafone) on a 30/10 fibre plan. Using Vodafone's address checker to see if there were other plans available, all they offer is ADSL! So the billing people know we are on fibre but the provisioning people don't. Lost confidence in Vodafone now.
Spark's address checker lets me choose the 100MB plan but doesn't show this area as being under either Enable or Chorus. The original install was done by Chorus and we have their ONT. Using Enable's address checker shows that they don't recognize our address (they supply Chch & Rolleston), and their coverage map does not include West Melton. However the one on Chorus shows UFB upto 1GB is available.
So can Spark really supply me 100MB service?
Is Chorus still the fibre provider for West Melton?
How long would internet & VoIP be down during the changeover?
The current router is an MP264 and it works well. Would I be able to continue using it? What settings would I need to change?
We have our own website and hence email address so what would I need to do to change that over?
Can anyone from Spark please answer these questions.
