Ive been watching Tv (smart tv) tonight, watching netflix.

I went back to regular TV, & now want to go back to netflix - however now my Smart TV *CAN* connect to the modem, but cannot connect to the internet.

1) in my HG659b modem, how do i see the IP/DNS for my smart TV.

2) is there a way of editing / changing it ? Ive been to most of the usual screens in the HG659b manager, but cannot find the information.

AAAGGHHH!

I spent 3-4 hours mucking around with my modem - fixing my modem etc..  & all along, its the Smart Tv server that is having problems.

Tomorrow it'll be up & running - hopefully

the router would have a DNS configuration, whether manually set or farmed out from your ISP. this is what would normally be used by all devices connected to it. you, generally, would have been able to change it there and have the tv use those settings. alas, some of the so-called "smart" devices have their own settings, e.g. chromecast is hard-coded to use google's servers. it might be the same for your tv.

hope you got it all working the way you want.

We are having the same issue here with our two TV's. It doesn't happen all the time, but when it does it is very annoying.

How did you get on with fixing your problem?

I'm thinking of using a powerline connection to see if that helps with wifi dropouts.
